"Jared followed the pattern of other wicked people throughout the scriptures who led people away by using flattery or telling them what they want to hear, what appeals to the natural man, because they know that's what people want to hear so they can do whatever they want. To the contrary, the prophets are usually rejected because they tell the people what they don't want to hear and to repent." (Dad)

"Despite the fact that Akish was friends with Omer the king he was willing to kill him in order to satisfy his lusts for the daughter of Jared. Lust is a powerful temptation and can get people to do bad things, just like what happened here and with king David. We need to be cautious to avoid pornography and impure thoughts that would cause us to lose the Spirit and sin." (Dad)
