What we learned...
"The Gadianton robbers went into the wilderness and had to find a way to get their own food." (Brandon)

"The Nephites were afraid about what Lachoneus said so they repented of all their sins." (Maycee & Mom)

"The Gadianton robbers started running out of food so they would have to hunt for it." (Shaylee)

"When the Gadianton robbers got to the land there was nothing there." (Jaron)

"The Nephites had to repent and prepare in order to be delivered by the Lord." (Elias)

"The Gadianton robbers didn't have a source of food whereas the Nephites had enough food to last them seven years." (Kenyon)

"Even though the Nephites had repented and prayed to the Lord for deliver them they continued to do everything they could to prepare by making all manner of weapons of war.

"The people formed a circle of tens of thousands of people to defend themselves from the Gadianton robbers." (Shaylee)

"The Lord is more likely to protect us if our intentions are righteous." (Elias)

"The Lord said to Gidgiddoni to not attack first the Gadianton robbers

"Gidgiddoni said that everyone should prepare themselves in the center of the land, gather all their armies together and wait for the Gadianton robbers to attack first." (Brandon)


"The Nephites gathered tens of thousands of people and started to build fortifications." (Kenyon)

"Gidgiddoni was both the chief judge and a prophet among the Nephites because they had a tradition of having spiritual leaders also be leaders of their government so that they would be just and righteous and keep the people in the ways of the Lord.

"Lachoneus was surprised by the epistle that Giddianhi sent." (Maycee & Mom)

"Giddianhi wanted Lachoneous to join his side." (Jaron)

"Lachoneous told the people to work with their faith so he told them to pray and prepare themselves." (Elias)

"Lachoneous would not give into Giddianhi's plan so instead he prayed to the Lord for strength to withstand them." (Brandon)


"The Lamanites and Nephites gathered themselves into a big group so they would bp prepared for when the Gadianton robbers attacked them." (Shaylee)

"While the Nephites were building up their fortifications they had guards guarding the builders." (Kenyon)


"The righteous did not just pray to the Lord for protection and strength but also did all they could by gathering together and building fortifications around them. The point is that we shouldn't ask the Lord for His help and blessings and expect Him to do everything but that we need to do everything we can when asking for His help. The Lord blesses those who help themselves and others

"The Nephites and Lamanites teamed up against the Gadianton robbers and beat them." (Jaron)

"The Nephites were crippled in their efforts to defend themselves because of their wickedness." (Elias)

"The wicked Nephites started to imagine up excuses to explain away all the signs and wonders the Lord had given them. So even though the wicked demand signs they really don't want them so that they'll believe and repent but rather expect not to see any signs to justify that there is no God so that they can go on in their ways of sin

"The people were glad because of the signs which did come to pass according to the words of the prophets." (Maycee & Mom)

"The Gadianton robbers came in and murdered a bunch of people." (Jaron)

"Those who were converted sought repentance and baptism so they could receive a remission of their sins. This is the natural consequence of exercising faith in Jesus Christ, which is why it comes in that order in Article of Faith 4, which is also known as the doctrine of Christ." (Dad)

"The wicked were afraid because all of the signs that Samuel prophesied of came true." (Shaylee)


"The sign of the sun arise for a day and a half came true

"A new star did appear which meant Jesus was born." (Maycee & Dad)

"They knew that the signs happened that he was a true prophet and was scared." (Mom)

"The sign of there being no darkness at night was so astonishing that the wicked could not explain it away and were convinced that Samuel the Lamanite was indeed a prophet, which caused them to fear because they knew of the destruction that was to follow

"The wicked ridiculed, persecuted and threatened those who believed in the prophecies of the prophets. The more wicked people a people become the worse their treatment of the righteous become. So the wicked Nephites were ripened in iniquity since they were at the point of putting the believers to death
