A:   "Because he is the father of all generations past him." (Brandon)  "He is the father of the covenant people, or the House of Israel, and all the nations of the earth would be blessed by his seed because they would hold the priesthood and bring the gospel to the world."  (Dad)

A:   "He will turn the wilderness like into Eden. He will turn the desert into the garden of the Lord. Basically He will bring joy and gladness and thanksgiving." (Brandon)

A:   "Tongue of the learned. Basically like on the spot to teach the gospel." (Brandon)

Q:   What did Isaiah do so that he could hear, learn from and be an instrument in the the Lord's hands? (Dad)
A:   "He wasn't rebellious and didn't turn his back on the Lord." (Brandon & Shaylee)  "He also turned the other cheek to those who hit and spit upon him. He suffered shame and persecuted for the Lord's sake."  (Dad)

Q:   What comfort did Isaiah take suffering persecution? (Dad)
A:   "He knew the Lord would help him." (Brandon)  "Yes, he knew that he wasn't alone. He knew the Lord was with him and would help him through it and contend with his enemies."  (Dad)

A:    "He says that they will wax old and the moth shall eat them up. In other words, they will die. His suffering will not last forever."  (Dad)

A:   "They shall be destroyed." (Shaylee)

Q:   Will there be more wicked or righteous at the second coming? (Dad)
A:   "Wicked." (Kenyon)  "The wicked will way out number the righteous."  (Dad)

Q:   How then will the righteous overcome the wicked if they're way outnumbered? (Dad)
A:   "They have the power of God." (Kenyon)   "The Lord will always deliver the righteous." (Brandon)  "The Lord will contend with the wicked." (Shaylee)

"So one of the ways the Lord will contend with the wicked by having them turn on themselves and destroy each other."  (Dad)

 "When things get really scary before the second coming the righteous may wonder why the Lord hasn't returned yet and may think that He has forgotten about us. But the Lord asks us if He has divorced us or sold us to creditors. He said that the wicked have divorced themselves from Him or sold themselves to their creditors. But the Lord will not forget His people who believe in and follow Him."  (Dad)

Q:   What did the Lord say that He can do at His command? (Dad)
A:    "He can dry up the sea. Make rivers a wilderness and the fish die and stink." (Brandon)  "Yes, the Lord controls the elements of the earth. So we need to remember that if you're ever in a situation where you don't see how you will be delivered. Remember how he delivered the children of Israel from Egypt by parting the Red Sea. He can do something great and spectacular like that again so don't lose hope."  (Dad)

Q:   How can the Lord clothe the heavens with blackness or make the sky go dark?  (Dad)
A:  "He can block the sun." (Kenyon) "Yes, He could block the sun with an eclipse. He could also do it the way He did to cause the three days of darkness among the Nephites after His death - by destruction, earthquakes, fires and volcanoes erupting causing huge clouds of debris in the sky that would block the sun."  (Dad)
