What we learned...
"The Melchezidek and Aaron Priesthood are Jesus' priesthood but named after them as to not overuse His name to respect His name." (Brandon)

"You'll have the priesthood after you die as long as you keep it here." (Elias)

"The reason guys are required to go on a mission and girls don't have to if they don't want to is that guys have the priesthood and the girls don't." (Shaylee)

"The people that have the priesthood it's because they followed God's orders." (Maycee) 

"The reason why girls don't have to go on a mission and the boys do is because the boys have the priesthood and girls don't." (Jaron)

"Many were ordained and became high priests because of their exceeding faith and repentance." (Mom)

"It is a priesthood responsibility to teach the commandments or gospel to the children of men which is why the priesthood holders are expected to go on missions. They are not required to but they are strongly encouraged to. We all should be seeking to prepare to serve a mission so that if they Lord's will is for us to serve that we will be ready."  (Dad)

What we learned...
"The holy order of God is the priesthood." (Jaron)

"When much is given much is required. That is why the Lord expects a lot to those born with the gospel." (Shaylee)

"Priesthood holders were foreordained to hold it in the pre-mortal life based on their faith in Christ and God's plan." (Brandon)

"Jesus trusts the people that would obey Him." (Maycee) 

"Repent and not harden your heart so you don't provoke the Lord's wrath." (Mom)

"The spirits in the pre-mortal life had agency and there were various types ranging from the very faithful and believing to those who were lukewarm and those who chose evil just like we have in this life. So it reasons that our personality, attitudes and faithfulness in this life is what it was in the pre-mortal life just as we are taught that we will take those same attributest we have attained in this life into the spirit world when we die. We're not going to be transformed into someone different just by going from one place to the other. It's by not hardening our hearts against God but exercising faith in Christ, repenting of our sins and following God's will are we transformed into being more like the Savior."  (Dad)

"If not for the plan of redemption, there wouldn't have been any resurrection.

"Amulek silenced Zeezrom who realized that he had been caught in his lyings and deceivings, and he realized what Amulek was saying was true." (Kenyon)

"If we fill our lives with the word of God then we'll have good thoughts, words and actions." (Brandon)

"If you wouldn't be on the side of the tree of life, then you'll be on Satan's side." (Maycee) 

"Zeezrom kept asking Alma questions this time to understand better." (Jaron)

"Zeezrom realized that Alma and Amulek were right so he started asking questions so he could figure out more the word of God." (Shaylee)

"Satan leads us down to destruction by using the chains of hell, which are his lies, deceptions, and temptations. The antidote to the chains of hell is the word of God, which is the truth, and if we accept it and live it then we will be freed from the chains and hell and the Lord will continue to give us more truth and light. The danger is if we harden our hearts agains receiving more of the Lord's word then we are then allowing Satan to wrap his chains of hell around us and lead us off the straight and narrow path back down the road to destruction."  (Dad)

"When Amulek said there's one God he meant that Heavenly Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are one in purpose." (Maycee & Mom

"Although Jesus cannot save people in their sins He can save them from their sins. But they must choose to turn from their sins and be cleansed through Jesus's atonement by exercising faith in Him and repenting of their sins. God will not force anyone to have faith in Christ and repent. It is our choice."  (Dad)

"Zeezrom told Amulek that he would give him a ton of money if he would deny the existence of Gof." (Kenyon)

"Zeezrom offered Amulek around 7 weeks of a judges salary, which is around $30,000 today, to deny the existence of God." (Brandon)

"When Amulek was tempted he told Zeezrom that he wouldn't take the money and would never deny his belief in God and Christ." (Shaylee)


"Zeezrom was going to keep the silver even if Amulek denied the existence of God." (Maycee) 

"Amulek didn't take the money that Zeezrom offered him." (Jaron)

"The reason that Amulek knew that Zeezrom was trying to trick him is that the Holy Ghost told him." (Mom)

"Amulek answered Zeezrom about whether he would answer his questions that he would but would not say anything contrary to the Spirit. We should do the same in our lives - not say anything contrary to what the Spirit would have us say."  (Dad)

"So the motivation of the lawyers who were stirring up contention, rioting and disturbances was to get more work so they could make more money. This same thing is happening in our country today, which is why the Lord had the prophets include it in the Book of Mormon. He is revealing to us the techniques and motivations of the wicked so that we won't be deceived by them."  (Dad)

"If you don't get paid back money that you're owed then you can bring it before the judges and try to get it paid back." (Mom)

"Amulek was trying to talk to the people how they let the devil get a hold of their hearts." (Brandon)

"Zeezrom was a lawyer that had a lot of money." (Jaron)

"Amulek told them that they were saved by the prayers of the righteous and that the Lord was angry if they didn't repent that they'd be killed by famine, pestilence and the sword." (Maycee & Mom

"Amulek told the people that the reason they haven't already been destroyed is because of the prayers of the righteous and that if they drive out the righteous from among them then the destruction would come upon them."  (Dad)

"Amulek told the people how an angel of God sent Alma to him." (Maycee) 

"The people of Ammonihah were trying to find fault with Alma." (Jaron)

"Even though they had a second of witness of Amulek they still did not believe." (Mom)

"Many people do today what the lawyers did to Amulek and Alma back then. If they don't like the message then they try to find fault with the messenger, even if it's something small or nit-picky so they can divert attention from the message and condemn them. The want to shoot the messenger."  (Dad)
