1 Nephi 15:8

Q:  What did Nephi ask his brothers when they said that they couldn't understand their father's words? (Dad)
A:  "Have ye inquired of the Lord?"  (Jaron)  "He asked if they had asked God."  (Mom)



1 Nephi 15:9

Q:  Had Laman and Lemuel prayed to the Lord to get understanding? (Dad)
A:  "Nope, they didn't."  (Jaron)

Q:  Had Nephi prayed to the Lord to get understanding of his father's vision? (Dad)
A:  "Yes"  (Maycee)  "That's right. That's why Nephi came to understand his father's words and vision and his brothers didn't - because he asked the Lord in prayer."  (Dad)


Q:  So if we ever read something in the scriptures or hear the words of the prophet and don't understand them what should we do? (Dad)
A:  "Pray."  (Kenyon)


1 Nephi 15:10

Q:  What else did Nephi ask his older brothers? (Dad)
A:   "He asked them how come they don't keep the commandments of the Lord."  (Kenyon)  "Yes, if we ask for the Lord's help and guidance we should be striving to do the things He commands us."  (Dad)


1 Nephi 15:11

Q:  What four things did the Lord say we need to do to have Him reveal things to us or receive revelation? (Dad)
A:  "If you don't harden your heart, ask in faith, believe that ye should receive, and keep the commandments." (Brandon)  "Yes, and they didn't even get to asking in faith because their hearts were hardened."  (Dad)


1 Nephi 15:12

Q:  What did Nephi tell them represented the olive tree? (Dad)
A:   "That the olive tree was the house of Israel." (Brandon) 

Q:  What did Nephi tell them what was the branch broken off the olive tree? (Dad)
A:   "That they are the broken branch off the olive tree." (Brandon)


1 Nephi 15:13

Q:  Who did Nephi say would bring the gospel to their seed in the latter days? (Dad)
A:   "The Gentiles."  (Kenyon)

Q:  Are the Gentiles part of the olive tree? (Dad)
A:   "They can be grafted into it." (Brandon)  "Yes, they are not the natural branches of the olive tree but if they accept the gospel and are baptized they are grafted into the olive tree and become part of the house of Israel."  (Dad)
