A: "They despised Jesus. They killed Him." (Brandon) "A lot of people interpret this as God punishing the Jews but I don't think that's the case. They have always been a target among the nations of the world but the Lord had protected them when they remembered Him and followed the prophets. But when they hardened their hearts against and crucified Jesus when He came down among them they lost those protective blessings, which enabled their enemies to prevail against them." (Dad)
