QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1 Nephi 21:8  (Dad)

Q:   What does the Lord say He will do to the House of Israel scattered on the isles of the sea? (Dad)
A:  "He will help and preserve them." (Shaylee)  "Yes, He also says that He will give His servant for a covenant to them."  (Dad)

Q:   He also says that He will give His servant for a covenant to them. Who is this servant is He talking about? Look at the footnote, which references 2 Nephi 3:11. Which prophet did the Lord raise up in the latter days to bring for His word?
A:   "Joseph Smith." (Kenyon)

1 Nephi 21:9  (Shaylee)

Q:   What kind of prisoners is He talking about who are in darkness but who will feed in pastures in high places? (Dad)
A:   "It's referring to spiritual prisoners. Before the Lord restored the fulness of the gospel through Joseph Smith people were in darkness regarding having the full knowledge of the gospel as well as the priesthood power to perform the ordinances of salvation such as baptism, confirmation, the sacrament and temple ordinances. But because the Lord restored His gospel and church through Joseph Smith we who have the gospel are not in darkness but we feed spiritually in high pastures meaning we receive great knowledge and blessings."  (Dad)

1 Nephi 21:10  (Kenyon)

Q:   What does it mean that the Lord's people will not hunger or thirst? Is He talking literally about physical hunger and thirst? (Dad)
A:   "No, they hunger or thirst for the gospel." (Kenyon)  "Yes, they will be filled spiritually. They will not have the spiritual void that others who don't have the fulness of the gospel who have that yearning to be fulfilled spiritually."  (Dad)

A:   "Jesus." (Shaylee & Kenyon)

1 Nephi 21:11  (Maycee)

Q:   The Lord says that His mountains and highways will be exalted. What does exalted mean? (Dad)
A:   "It's to lift up high. So the Lord's paths are not the paths of the world's. His ways and thoughts are higher than the world's. We must follow His paths and be on higher or exalted ground to help others up on to it and to return to Him."  (Dad)

1 Nephi 21:12  (Jaron)

Q:   Who do you think the Lord is talking about who will come from afar? Who will be gathered in the last days? (Dad)
A:   "Scattered House of Israel." (Shaylee)  "The lost tribes of Israel." (Kenyon

Q:   How will they be gathered? (Dad)
A:   "Missionary work." (Kenyon)  "Correct. The Lord has given us the charge to share the gospel with the world to gather together His covenant people and anyone else willing to become part of His covenant people."  (Dad)
