1 Nephi 7:14

Q:  Why did Nephi say that the Spirit of the Lord would stop striving to be with the people in Jerusalem? (Dad)
A:  "Because they reject the prophets. Because they cast them into prison. and they also sought to murder Lehi who was also a prophet."  (Mom)  "Yes, that's one of the signs when a people are ripened to the point of being destroyed when they cast out or try to kill the prophets of God."  (Dad)


1 Nephi 7:15

Q:  What did Nephi say would happen to them if they returned to Jerusalem? (Dad)
A:  "They would be destroyed with the people of Jerusalem."  (Kenyon)



1 Nephi 7:16

Q:  How did they react to what Nephi told them? (Dad)
A:  "They tied him with cords and then left him and hoped that he would be eaten by wild beasts in the wild." (Brandon) 



1 Nephi 7:17

Q:  What did Nephi do while he was tied up with cords in the wilderness? (Dad)
A:  "He prayed to God and said 'Lord, please give me strength to burst these cords so I can be free'." (Shaylee)



1 Nephi 7:18

Q:  So what happened when Nephi ended his prayer? (Dad)
A:  "The Lord made it so the cords loosened so he stood up and talked to his brothers." (Shaylee)



1 Nephi 7:19

Q:  How did they initially react to Nephi after he got free of the cords? (Dad)
A:  "They tried to kill him."  (Kenyon)

Q:  So why didn't they kill Nephi then? (Dad)
A:  "The mother and a daughter and son of Ishmael pleaded with them not to hurt Nephi, and they softened their hearts." (Brandon)
