1 Nephi 12:6

Q:  What did Nephi see after the darkness was lifted after the destruction? (Dad)

A:  "He saw the heavens open, and Jesus coming down from heaven." (Shaylee)

1 Nephi 12:7

Q:  What happened to the twelve others? (Dad)
A:  "The Holy Ghost fell upon them. I think they are the twelve apostles." (Shaylee)

Q:  How were they chosen? Did the people vote on who they thought should be the apostles? (Dad)
A:  "No. God chooses. God knows best on who should be apostles." (Brandon)

Q:  How did God choose them? Who came down and chose them? (Dad)
A:  "Jesus came down, and He chose them." (Shaylee)  

Q:  How did God choose new apostles today? (Dad)
A:  "Doesn't the prophet get the prompting on who to choose?" (Brandon)  "Yes, the prophet chooses and the other apostles sustain his choice."  (Dad)

1 Nephi 12:8

Q:  How many apostles were on the earth at this time? (Dad)
A:  "Twelve." (Shaylee)   "Wrong. Where did He choose these apostles?"  (Dad)  "The Americas."  (Mom)  "Twenty four because there are twelve others He called in Jerusalem." (Brandon)  "Yes, there were at least twenty four. There could have been more if He called more when He visited the other lost tribes."  (Dad)

1 Nephi 12:9

Q:  What did the Spirit tell Nephi the apostles would do? (Dad)
A:  "They shall judge the twelve tribes of Israel." (Shaylee)  "Yes, they will be witnesses at the judgement bar of God to testify of the things they taught us."  (Dad)

1 Nephi 12:10

Q:  What made the twelve apostles so righteous? (Dad)
A:  "Because of their faith in Jesus Christ and God." (Shaylee)

1 Nephi 12:11

Q:  How did their garments and ours become white and pure so that we can return to God clean? (Dad)
A:  "Be righteous by asking forgiveness for all our sins and forgive others." (Brandon)  "Yes, those things are true. But what is the first thing we must have before everything else?" (Dad)  "Faith in Jesus Christ." (Shaylee)  "Exactly! It's faith that leads us to repent and to forgive and to become righteous. That's why it is the first principle of the gospel. Everything must be founded upon our faith in Jesus Christ." (Dad)
