A:  "They tried to kill him." (Shaylee)

Q:  What is a tender mercy of the Lord?  (Dad)
A:  "It's when the Lord does something nice for us that He doesn't need to do. It's like when He spared Maycee from drowning in the river. He didn't need to save her life. He could have taken her back home to heaven with Him, but He showed a tender mercy to us by sparing her life. He did the same with Brandon. Brandon's life was also spared miraculously. But tender mercies don't have to be miraculous things. They are also small, little things the Lord does that let us know He's is aware of what we're going through and has done something to help or comfort us."  (Dad)

Q:  It says the Lord show tender mercies to His chosen. How does one become chosen? (Dad)
A:  "They have faith." (Shaylee)  "Yes, to those who exercise faith in Him." (Dad)
