Q:  Why did the Lord tell Lehi that he was blessed? (Dad)
A:  "Because of the things he did. He was righteous and did things for the Lord." (Shaylee) "He declared unto the wicked people in Jerusalem to repent and follow the commandments." (Brandon) 

1 Nephi 2:2

Q:  What did the Lord tell Lehi to do? (Dad)
A:  "He needed to take his family and go into the wilderness." (Shaylee) 

1 Nephi 2:3

Q:  Did Lehi obey the Lord's command to depart into the wilderness? (Dad)
A:  "Yes." (Kenyon)

Q:  Did they leave their house behind? (Dad)
A.  "Yes." (Kenyon)

Q:  How hard would that be to leave your home and your belongings to go live in the wilderness? (Dad)  
A:  "Really hard."  (Jaron)

Q:  Would you do the same if the Lord asked you to? (Dad)
A:  "That's a question we all need to ask ourselves. It certainly would not be an easy thing to do." (Dad)

1 Nephi 2:4

Q:  What did they take with them into the wilderness? (Dad)
A:  "Their tents and provisions." (Shaylee)  "Their family and provisions." (Brandon) 

Q:  What didn't they take with them?
A:   "Their money. Their furniture." (Kenyon)  "Their home." (Shaylee) "Their precious things. Pretty much everything except what they needed to live off of." (Dad)

1 Nephi 2:7

Q:  What did Lehi do after they stopped traveling and pitched their tents? (Dad)
A:  "Built an altar of stones." (Shaylee)

Q:  What's the purpose of an altar? (Dad)
A:  "To make sacrifices to the Lord." (Brandon)

Q:  What else did he do?  (Dad)
A:  "Gave an offering to the Lord. He thanked the Lord." (Shaylee) 

Q:  Lehi thanked the Lord for making them leave their home and belongings? (Dad)
A:  "For saving their lives because he's going to destroy the city because of their wickedness." (Brandon)
