Mormon 2:9-24

What we learned...

"The Nephites were sorrowful that they could not live a life of happiness in sin not because they were sorrowful for what they had done." (Brandon)

"Mormon was upset when he realized that the Nephites were mourning over their stuff that was stolen and not because they wanted to repented
." (Shaylee)

"The Nephites cursed God and wished to die." (Jaron)

"Mormon was sad because a bunch of his men died in open rebellion against God." (Elias)

"Mormon was promised that he would be lifted up at the last day and gain eternal life." (Kenyon)

"The Nephites protected themselves by fortifying the city of Shem, and they gathered as much people as they could into it." (Maycee)

"Mormon was trying to get the Nephites to stand up and fight against the Lamanites for their wives, and their children and their homes and land." (Mom)

"Mormon was hopeful at first for the Nephites because they were sorrowful and the first steps to repentance is recognizing that we've sinned and feeling Godly sorrow for them. But his joy was vain because he realized that their sorrow was because they could not be happy in sin. They wanted to live sinfully yet enjoy the fruits of being righteous." (Dad)
