Alma 1:20-26

What we learned...
"Those who stood fast in the faith were steadfast and immovable in keeping the commandments even when persecution was heaped upon them." (Kenyon)

"The people who did not fall away from the church they would stop their work and go to hear the preachings of the gospel." (Shaylee)

"They had a law over the Nephites to not persecute people for other beliefs or for persecuting them like turning the other cheek like Jesus taught." (Brandon)

"There was a law that the people of the church were not supposed to persecute those outside of the church." (Maycee & Mom)

"Many people hearts were hardened and their names were blotted out." (Jaron)

"The trials and suffering of the saints were verbal. They were being attacked verbally, which caused many members of the church to get into arguments, which escalated to physical violence. Most of the persecution we face today is likewise verbal so we need to not react like they did by being contentious because it can escalate to worse things like physical violence. Jesus taught us to love our enemies and those who persecute us."  (Dad)
