What we learned...
"Since Ammon came to the land the people of Limhi entered into a covenant with God to serve and keep His commandments." (Kenyon)

"The people of Limhi wanted to be baptized but the problem was nobody had the authority to do it except Ammon who didn't feel he was worthy." (Shaylee)

"When the people [Ammon and his brethren] realized what Alma did they said that they would have gone with him with a desire to be baptized." (Brandon)

"Ammon was sad about all that King Noah did." (Maycee & Mom)

"They had to wait to be baptized because nobody had the authority." (Jaron)

"As important as baptism is, which it is essential to enter into the kingdom of God, it is just as important that it is done by someone who has the Priesthood authority to baptize. The people realized this, which is why they delayed getting baptized until the time that someone who had the Priesthood authority and was worthy could baptize them."  (Dad)

What we learned...
"King Limhi sent a small group of men to find Zarahemla but they found a land full of dry bones, which they assumed was the land of Zarahemla. But they found plates, which was a record of the people, and brought it back with them." (Kenyon)

"Ammon was very sad when King Limhi told him when Ammon found out how many people had been killed off in the war." (Shaylee)

"You shouldn't always make assumptions. For example, if King Limhi had killed Ammon and his brethren because he thought they were the priests of Noah then they wouldn't have been able to help free his people." (Brandon)

"Ammon found King Limhi, and they were happy." (Jaron)

"They [Ammon and the sons of Mosiah] found Limhi." (Maycee)

"Limhi and his people didn't know how to interpret the plates so they were happy that King Mosiah could interpret them." (Mom)

"We've learned many times from the account of the people of Limhi how important it is to not make decisions out of anger or by jumping to conclusions or else we, and usually others, will suffer bad consequences. We should seek to know all the facts we can and to understand the situation and then make decisions calmly and according to the promptings of the Spirit."  (Dad)

"The priests of Noah were stealing from the Nephites to support themselves." (Kenyon)

"The people of Limhi and the Lamanites went to war many times and the people of Limhi lost every time because the Lord was not on their side." (Shaylee)

"Eventually the people of Limhi came to terms of peace with the Lamanites, which is when Ammon and his brethren found them." (Brandon)

"The Lamanites and Nephites went to war many times." (Jaron)

"King Limhi didn't want to go out because he was afraid that the Lamanites would kill him." (Maycee & Shaylee)

"We should only go to war to defend ourselves, unless the Lord says otherwise, and not be the instigator. And we need to be humble." (Mom)

"The people of Limhi suffered greatly because they reacted in anger to go to war against the Lamanites. Making decisions out of anger always leads to bad consequences since we're following the promptings of the devil instead of the Spirit. And even though the people of Limhi eventually repented they still suffered greatly from the consequences of their sins and iniquities. The same applies to us. Just because the Lord will forgive us doesn't mean that the consequences of our sins and bad choices will go away because most of them will not. So you can either learn the easy way by not sinning and following the Lord's promptings to begin with or you can learn the hard way by following the devil's way and learn the hard way from great suffering."  (Dad)

"A important lesson to be learned is that when you're trying to resolve a dispute it's best to be humble and understanding even when the other party is at fault so that they are able to put it behind them. Being prideful or getting even for wrongs just adds fuel to the fire and keeps the fire of vengeance burning hotter and longer."  (Dad)
