Q:   Why was the tree of forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden? (Dad)

A:   "There had to be opposition at some point or nobody would get anywhere." (Kenyon) 

2 Nephi 2:16

Q:   In order for us to act for ourselves what must we have? (Dad)

A:   "Sin." (Shaylee)  "Yes, there must be an opposing choice to choose from."  (Dad)

2 Nephi 2:17

Q:   Was Satan always evil? (Dad)
A:   "No, he was an angel of God." (Shaylee)

Q:   Did we have choice before we came to earth? (Dad)
A:  "Yes, we were the same there as we are here." (Shaylee)  "One third of the people chose to follow Satan while the others chose the Lord's plan. They weren't forced to go with anyone." (Brandon)

2 Nephi 2:18

Q:   What does it say is Satan's motivation behind everything he does? (Dad)
A:   "He wants people to have misery." (Shaylee)  "Exactly. He is miserable and wants to drag everyone else into it as well. That's why there's the saying 'Misery loves company.' Miserable people can't feel happiness so the only thing they feel better about is when they can make others miserable too."  (Dad)

2 Nephi 2:19

Q:   What was the consequence of Adam and Eve partaking of the forbidden earth? (Dad)
A:   "They were cast out of the garden of Eden and had to till the earth to get their own food." (Brandon)

2 Nephi 2:20

Q:   What was another consequence? (Dad)
A:   "They were able to have children." (Brandon)
