Q: How does the Lord describe people at the time of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon? (Dad)
A: "They draw near to me with their lips but their hearts are far from Me." (Kenyon) "Yes, they say the right things and pretend to be righteous but that's not what they desire. Their hearts are set upon the world and doing their will not the Lord's." (Dad)
Q: What is the marvelous work and a wonder spoken of in this verse and in other parts of the scriptures? (Dad)
A: "The Restoration." (Mom) "Yes, it is the Restoration of the priesthood and church and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon to gather in scattered Israel to prepare for the second coming of the Lord." (Dad)
Q: Who would try and hide their counsel from the Lord? (Dad)
A: "Those who think they can get away with sin without the Lord knowing." (Brandon) "Yes, those who the Lord described earlier as drawing near to Him with their lips but their hearts are far from Him." (Dad)
Q: How can deaf people hear and blind people see the words of the book? What is he talking about? (Dad)
A: "It's talking about spiritual deafness and blindness not literal. The Book of Mormon will help those who have been spiritually blind and deaf to see and hear the fulness of the Lord's words, which have been in darkness until the Restoration, and understand them." (Dad)
