What we learned...
"Nephi first sign didn't work so he told them that he would show them another sign to prove that he was a prophet of the Lord." (Shaylee)

"The judges accused Nephi of setting up the chief judges death in order to fulfill his prophesy to make more people to join the church." (Brandon)

"The judges were trying to find fault with Nephi." (Jaron)

"Nephi called the judges to repentance, and they wanted to kill him." (Kenyon)


"The five Nephites were liberated on the day of the funeral, and Nephi was taken bound and questioned." (Maycee & Mom)


"The judges and people had a choice when Nephi called them out for their wickedness, which they knew was true - either acknowledge their sins and repent or harden their hearts and find fault with Nephi in order to discredit what he said.

What we learned...
"The people that came after the five men who fainted thought they murdered him so they put them in jail." (Jaron)

"There was a funeral for the chief judge and pretty much the entire city was there." (Shaylee)

"The people who found the five men did not know about the people gathered with Nephi and what happened there." (Maycee & Mom)

"The people gathered around the judgement seat and saw the five guys." (Kenyon)


"After the chief judge was murdered his servants fled and told the people about it, and when they came to the judgement seat to see they found the five men who fainted and thought that they killed him and that God had smitten them to the earth." (Dad)

"The judge was killed by his brother who wanted to be the judge." (Kenyon)


"The people were shocked when they saw the judge dead." (Jaron)

"The chief judge died." (Maycee & Mom)

"The people who gathered around Nephi to hear him pray didn't believe him so they ran to see if they chief  judge was killed." (Shaylee)

"The people after what they saw realized that all the destruction that Nephi prophesied would happen." (Brandon)

"The five men fainted because if Nephi was right about this he was right about all the other things he said would happen." (Mom)

"Nephi revealed to the people that the chief judge's brother killed him because he wanted to become the chief judge and that both were members of the band of Gadianton. So it's not surprising for the wicked to turn on each other since they are selfish and do evil already. They are untrustworthy and always have to be worried about others betraying them.

"The Nephites have sinned against the truth and rejected it even with the many evidences they have received that it's true." (Maycee & Mom)

"Nephi warned the people that they had become ripened in wickedness and unless they repented they would reap everlasting wrath and destruction." (Dad)

"If we look upon the Son of God with faith and a contrite spirit we can gain eternal life." (Kenyon)

"Even though Moses was one of main prophets they referred to who taught about the coming of Christ, all the holy prophets have testified of Him and His coming.

"The judges were trying to stir up the people to anger against Nephi." (Jaron)

"The people that supported Nephi told the judges that if he wasn't a prophet he wouldn't be able to testify of the things he did." (Shaylee)

"The judges were plotting against Nephi but they were worried because Nephi was gaining the people's support." (Brandon)

"The judges wanted to kill Nephi but they didn't because they feared the people." (Kenyon)


"Nephi told the judges that if you don't believe my words you don't believe the words of the prophets before me because we're teaching the same thing." (Maycee & Mom)

"Nephi told the people that he knew of their sins and of the judgements that awaited them through the same power that Moses parted the Red Sea, which is the power of God.

"The Lamanites are going to be better off than the Nephites because the Lamanites don't know any better." (Maycee & Mom)

"The Lamanites didn't really know any better so nothing happened to them but the Nephites knew the gospel they'll die unless they repent." (Jaron)

"If our hearts are full of vanity then we will be turned to iniquity." (Elias)


"The problem with the Nephites is they embraced the Gadianton robbers where the Lamanites pushed them away." (Shaylee)

"The Nephites became wicked in a short period of time because they set their hearts upon riches and the vain things of the world and to get the praise of men instead of putting God first and caring more what He thinks of them." (Dad)
